IPL laser for pigmentation is performed for erasing mild sun damage, freckles, irregular pigmentation and light brown spots on the face, neck and chest and hands.
Laser treatment for pigmentation is a safe and effective method to help reduce skin concerns including the appearance of freckles, acne scars and age spots. The laser treatment works by targeting pigmented lesions in the skin which absorb the light. The laser then heats up and shatters the pigment. The pigment is then drawn to the surface and eventually fades or flakes off.

About IPL Laser
During your IPL treatment a hand piece is placed on your skin and pulses of light are emitted to treat the skins imperfections. The firing of the IPL feels like the flicking of an elastic band, and does not require local anaesthetic cream or analgesics beforehand.
Immediately after treatment the area reddens and may feel like sunburn for up to 24 hours and some swelling of the pigmented lesions may be seen. If large areas or many spots are being treated, significant swelling can occur. By day two, the pigment starts to darken, and over the next few days and weeks crusts over and falls away. This will take 5 - 7 days on the face and 10 - 20 days on the body.
As a guide, we generally recommend 2-4 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart.We currently offer packages of IPL at a discounted rate.
